Independent Living Skills
We provide group training’s which focus on identifying individual’s strengths, weaknesses, and objectives. A trained facilitator offers individuals the skills and strategies to achieve their vocational and educational goals. Communication and problem solving related to searching, obtaining, and maintaining employment are some of the skills taught in empowerment classes.
Independent Living (IL) Assessments:
In-depth assessment designed to assess a person with a disability’s ability to live independently. We assess all areas of independent living. Based on the findings of the assessment, we recommend Activity of Daily Living (ADL) Trainings or Individual Services personalized to the individual’s needs. We employed a conversational approach in conjunction with hands on activities and multiple choice quizzes and common forms, i.e.; W4 forms, job, and rental applications to complete his Independent Living Assessment.
Independent Living Skills Test:
Personalized (ADL) Activities of Daily Living Skills Test. Depending upon the results of an IL Assessment, one-on-one facilitation with hands-on learning of home maintenance, hygiene, personal budget planning, socialization, culinary skills can be tested and reviewed.
NOTE: IL Assessment must already have been conducted before this service is available.
