Independent Living & Public Policy Specialist
Provides core services to consumers to assist individuals with achieving their independent living goals. Lauren also provides an awareness of DNOM services and initiatives for consumers, family members, agencies, disability organizations and legislators within Oakland and Macomb counties.
Lauren Baker joined the DNOM team as a Public Policy Specialist in October of 2012. Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2005. She taught kindergarten for two years at a private school in Plymouth, Michigan. For the past year Lauren has been the director of sales and marketing for Elder Living Construction, which is a company that specializes in home modifications to accommodate people with physical disabilities. She enjoys working in a field in which she is helping to improve the quality of life of others.
