Tameka Citchen-Spruce – Trustee

Tameka Citchen-Spruce has a T2 Spinal Cord Injury, paralyzed from the mid-chest down but she hasn’t let her disability stand in her way.  She’s Ms Wheelchair MI 2006 and owned a 501(C)3 Non-profit organization Women Empowered Inc for women with disabilities.  Besides those accomplishments, she studied Theater at Henry Ford Community College and wrote a One Act Stage Play called 24 hours to Live. Later she studied Broadcast Television and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Journalism from Oakland University. Now she’s a filmmaker and produced a short film, Seeded for 48 hour film festival. Currently she’s producing a documentary called Redefining Beauty Documentary.  A documentary that tells the stories and struggles of 4 teen girls living in Detroit, Michigan.  Mrs. Spruce is also a wife and mother of two.
